Thinking Blogger Award — the meme

Sat, Mar 24, 2007

General News

The Thinking Blog has started a Thinking Blogger Award, and it appears to be an exercise in how a meme is spread.

The way it works, someone is “awarded” this prestigious award, and it is the duty of the recipient to pass this award off to five of his or her favorite weblogs that make them think. They in turn pick five and pass it on to each of them, and on it goes — like a virus.

Well, TomCat decided that this little thing here really makes him think, because Equal Time Radio has been named on his weblog to receive this award!

Thinking Blogger Award

(I’d like to thank my mother, my father, and the little girl down the street from me when I was thirteen…)

[before you work your dirty minds up into a lather, we married when we were 18 and are still married to this date]

Before we name our choices for the five weblogs that make us think here, I think that everyone here should list who they think the victims recipients should be.

So get busy.

Didn’t TomCat already list White Noise Insanity?

Of course I don’t want to be beating my own drum, but I guess I should:

    Liberaltopia?

After all, we have a few very fine and able writers over there who really make you think.

  6. Mirth Says:

That’s one, DJ. We need 4 (at least) more from you.

  7. TomCat Says:

It was both a privilege and a pleasure to pick you. You guys have a great blog. Forgive me for not contributing to your list, but I just wore out my thinking cap on this one.

I respectfully nominate http://washingtonwoman.blogspot.com/. Not just because Traci is our co host but because she puts her soul into what she writes and also sees the world through fair-minded glasses. But she doesn’t actually WEAR glasses, not even contacts I don’t think. Traci, do you wear contacts?

  9. Mirth Says:

    TomCat… :wub_tb:

  10. Mirth Says:

Amen Frank, to washingtonwoman’s inclusion on the list!

  11. Clif Says:

  12. Clif Says:

I guess the SPAM filter ate my list…

  13. Traci Kelly Says:

I believe the spam monster ate me.

I guess the SPAM filter ate my list…

Probably because of the number of links you posted.

  15. Mirth Says:

My link-heavy comment was grabbed, but I inspammed it.

  16. Mirth Says:

    *unspammed it

  17. Clif Says:

Not a problem DJ, I just figgered that, but wanted to provide the links so people didn’t have to google all them.

  18. Clif Says:

    BTW not a blog but a very well written article by Scott Ritter that gives the historical background on the Sunni-Shiite split, and how it affects Iraq;

Scott Ritter: Calling Out Idiot America

definitely worth the read if you want a single article to explain what is happening which ther fooles in Washington are clueless about, and why their “plans” for Iraq fail completely.

  19. DJ Allyn, Admin Says:

Usually, the threshold for links in the comments is no more than two links.

My link-heavy comment was grabbed, but I unspammed it.

…and yet you didn’t correct your comment by editing it? :lol_wp:
(hint: look for the pencil graphic)

  20. TomCat Says:

    Thanks Mirth!! :embarrassed_ee:
