After a lot of speculation from Americans like me, and a successful lawsuit by the New York Times, we now have confirmation that the military “analysts” we see as talking heads on fox and the rest of the cable “news” networks have been compromised or even bought and paid for by senior Pentagon officials. This is a long but comprehensive article but well worth the time, read it HERE. When we sit watching what we used to think is unbiased, informative commentary from these former generals, we now know that these “experts” are part of a deliberate, comprehensive program of mis, and dis-information orchestrated directly from the Pentagon then controlled by rummy. These robots and puppets just sat and aped the company-line to us un-suspecting consumers. They had direct financial interests in contracts they either had direct, vested, personal interests in, or worked as lobbyists for corporations they worked FOR.
So who do we believe? The talking heads? The “experts”? Which experts? How do we know whether the yapping war boosters are under personal financial pressure to act as cheerleaders for GOP policy? How has all this affected our ability to make coherent conclusions about how we view this occupation? I GUESS we now know that we can’t trust ANYTHING we are fed by the cable AND broadcast networks. As to motive, I think that is obvious. When you BUY the news, you can make it say anything want. Like we always say on Equal Time, don’t trust ANYthing we say, look it up, do your homework. Now what effect has this manipulation had on how WE Americans view this occupation? I’m afraid the net total has been the complete erosion of confidence we have that the administration has any idea of what it’s doing. Good job guys. To paraphrase oxi-rush,I can’t think of ONE policy or action ANY arm of the bush administration hasn’t botched or used for private corporate profit at the expense of US, can YOU? I’m waiting………

I would have to agree and disagree with your take on this. We can not lump ALL former Generals into this bought and paid for group.
Remember that there have been a lot of retirements and defections by Generals and other officers, so they could speak out against the gdub clan and war machine.
I would NOT put General Wesley Clark or Maj. General Paul Eaton and many others, into the same group as some of the others that are paid stooges for the bush crime family.

I agree, and I mentioned that on the “other” blog. The NYT piece mentions the heroic actions of Generals Batiste and Eaton among others. They gave up a career they worked a lifetime to get, and stopped serving (in uniform)the country they love, just to tell us how screwed up rummy is and that we are indeed beating a dead horse.
