OK OK, I know I’m behind on my posting. It’s summer and I’ve been up to my fetlocks with other projects. But I couldn’t wait any longer to post about Bruce Lachney. Bruce is running for Pierce County Council. I admit that we usually concentrate on national and statewide issues and candidates, but this guy presented so well and knew the issues AND solutions to the problems his district faces that I felt compelled to go the extra step. He also learns quick and knows what he’s talking about. Refreshing. LOL, I actually caught myself  laughing a  couple times during this interview. Not because there was anything particularly funny being said, but because this guy is SO far superior to the lackey currently occupying that seat, I can’t believe there is any doubt who SHOULD be doing the work for that district. In politics, as with any other endeavor, there are those who bloviate and serve their own best interests, and those who quietly do the work and make things happen for the good of the people. Mr Lachney fits into the latter category. Give him money and your vote.

This week we interviewed Peter Goldmark, a Democrat running for Commissioner of public lands. Dr Goldmark is a well educated man who is also a farmer/rancher from Okanogan in eastern Washington. You can read about Peter’s background and experience HERE. Dr Goldmark is a soft-spoken man,very knowledgeable and experienced in how to best manage our state’s varied and complex issues. From sustainable farm and logging practices to water quality and shoreline protection, Dr Goldmark is absolutely the right choice for this most important position. If there were ever any doubt as to the consequences  of allowing a big corporation to engage in dangerous practices, HERE is one story.

There is a delicate balance between regulating business out of business and allowing safe and sustainable practices that allow commerce to flourish. No one understands this concept better than a farmer. We have interviewed a lot of elected officials and folks running for office. Dr Goldmark is one who knows the issues AND knows how to address those issues. The citizens of this state would be lucky to have a guy like him managing their land. He’s an impressive guy, we urge you to listen to what he has to say HERE, and judge for yourself.

Phil Gramm has brought our country to it’s knees. (No porn-pun intended) He has single-handedly disemboweled all regulatory control over the energy markets, which brought us the Enron debacle and our currant oil crisis. He was instrumental in the process that is responsible for the mortgage crisis and the resulting death of real estate and the daily failure of our nation’s biggest banks. Read about it HERE.

After HE caused all of THAT, millions of Americans are suffering the loss of their houses, their jobs and their ability to travel to look for NEW jobs, “flatulent-phil” accuses US of being a nation of whiners. OH, and we’re all mental cases. All the economic disaster we all face (but not HIM, WE taxpayers will bail HIS banking customers out) is all in our heads.  Ya see? Phil and the bush family and all the rest of the leeches who we will never hear about that are actually PROFITING from this global economic disaster HE is responsible for claim to be more MORAL than the rest of us. After all, GAWD MUST want them to be rich because they are morally,genetically and racially superior to us hoard of unwashed masses who will pick up the tab for them.It turns out that old moral phil invested in a couple of pornographic stroke movies. Even someone as tone-deaf and stupid as old blinky McCAin is trying to distance his stumbling campaign from this monster. JEEZE, who’s next john? He has jettisoned half of the lobbyists from his staff at least in public. We can all rest assured that IF the media and corporate America (there’s a difference???) get their way, leeches like gramm will be in positions of power to finish off what’s left of our once-proud and great nation. GAWD help us, THEY won’t.

Is John McCain tongue tied, stupid or senile and is it contagious? Watch as old John is questioned by a woman reporter about a vote on birth control and ED treatments. He blinks, stammers, and looks like he’s trying to pull his lips off. And he told her he certainly doesn’t want to talk about THAT issue. Then he mentions a country that hasn’t existed for a long time….TWICE in as many days. His supporters seem to have the same problem forming a cogent sentence when describing his policies. So, is it straight talk or babble? YOU decide.

No, I’m serious. What DOES he stand for? When you SEE him on TV, what crosses your mind? THIS is what crosses MY mind when I see him chopping the air with his hands or smiling without changing his eyes at weird times when he’s botching his lines. I also think of THIS as he flops around like a fish on a dock. So, to those of you who are inspired by this man, what IS it? What makes you support him and which position on which issue at which time does it for you? I’m serious.

Aside from the Brots and burgers, the mattress sales and the drunken pyrotechnics July fourth also is a day we celebrate the signing of the document that shook the world. Our forefathers broke ties with the kingdom who ruled them and at great personal peril. The second they signed the parchment they were traitors who could be hanged.They were brave and bold men who cherished their liberty and fought for it with a zeal that impressed the world. Most of the original signers wound up dead or died in abject poverty without ever seeing their families again.

In this day of instant gratification, we think we are making a grand sacrifice if we walk to the store once in a while. We suffer the shredding of our constitution and take solace by watching our TVs as the talking heads tell us that as long as we do what we are told, we will be safe. We cower at the prospect of bearded brown people killing us in our sleep and sacrifice our liberty and freedom as we sit behind deadbolt locks gripping our guns and waiting….waiting for the attack our leaders keep telling us could happen at any second despite the their professed superior ability to keep us safe. *sigh*

Our dear leader’s GWOT (global war on terra) has played itself out in Iraq and so NOW, the focus is on Iran where there are NO Qeudas and no threat of attack on us, or anyone else. They have no “nukular” weapons or a program to BUILD any, so of COURSE that’s where we want our troops sent to find bin slobbin. (Remember HIM????) According to Sy Hirsh we have been conducting covert operations there for at LEAST three years. Read about it HERE. ( This is a REEEEEEELY long article, but well worth the time) As with everything else the bush crew has done over the last seven-plus years, this operation is ill-conceived, wrong, illegal, bad for the US economy and puts the US at risk globally. There is one little thing that gets left out of the mix, an issue that the media doesn’t talk about because MOST of the major “news” shows and cable networks are sponsored by the oil companies, is the second bush launches an attack either by OUR forces OR by Israel as a surrogate, the price of a barrel of oil will reach 400 dollars. So, how does twenty dollar a gallon gas strike ya? Will it be worth the “shock and awe” images on TV?

As has been well documented, the rats who planned and carried out the attacks of 9/11 are in PAKISTAN! But the factions in our own government and the lame “diplomatic” mess condi oversees, we are again unable to pull our forces together enough to actually capture or kill the fundamentalists who actually pose a threat to our country. So what bush is doing is (as usual) the wrong thing in the wrong place for the wrong reason and lying about it. IF our forces were able to stop acting like a combination of the Keystone Cops and the three Stooges, IF the factions in our government could learn to stop acting like three year olds and IF the American people gave a damn about ANY of this, we COULD capture or kill those who hurt us and enabled bush to do whatever he wants to us. We would, of course have the support of the world. IF these imbeciles attack Iran, THEY would have the support of China and Russia and most of Europe. WE would have the support of…….Israel, for a while. Sadly, and with fear for the globe, I honestly believe bush will attack Iran. I’ll explain why I think this in another post. For NOW, I’ll prey to whatever GAWD there is that I am wrong.

I posted a piece a while back about the right wing and where their petty, putrid little minds go. You can refresh your memory HERE. It amazes and sickens me when I think of all the stuff that gets broadcast on big sticks (Powerful radio towers) all around our great country. Just when you think the worst words and phrases have been uttered, just when you think there CAN’T be anything lower or more guttural muttered by the fetid “commentators” SOMEone digs below the bottom of the septic tank. That someone is micheal reagan. I’ll post the link HERE. Just a warning, get the kids out of the room when you watch this. I really vacillated about posting this tripe here, I wrote about it on another blog. (mine) But I decided to do it for two reasons. It has to do with my beloved radio business, and second, because people have to know what is being passed along as political commentary in this country. And besides, I wanted to assure our wonderful listeners that WE don’t say crap like that on our show, our minds don’t GO there.

UPDATE!!! HERE’S the link. He was AWSOME!! As I mentioned on the previous post about Rep. Kucinich’s articles of impeachment, I called his DC office to express my support for his resolution. While I had them on the phone, I asked about the possibility of having Dennis on our show at some point. I mentioned that a few months ago, he was in Tacoma and he was supposed to call us on the air, but of course being a hot commodity and we being Democrats and all…. Well, Traci and I went to the venue after the show and met and shook hands with him. I mentioned that we were sorry he couldn’t call the show and he said that we would try again later. I’m willing to bet that he remembers that brief encounter because he cares about people and is also a really smart guy.
Guess what we’ll be talking about? Again, as I mentioned in the previous post, he stood on the House floor for over four hours making his case for impeachment point by point with well documented evidence with laws and constitutional references backing him up. We’ll also ask about the responsibility of congress to head the oath they took to preserve,protect and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. He has scheduled a full half-hour. It should be an interesting and informative hour, join us.

Yesterday (6/09/08) Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) spent over four hours laying down a case for the impeachment of bush. Read about this HUGE story HERE. You can read this extraordinary document HERE. This bush crew has literally gotten away with murder under the noses of both GOPer AND Democratic congresses. Nancy Pelosi has been a chump for the bush bastards and done their dirty work FOR them in that she has allowed them to go about their evil business and has by her weakness and cowardly silence,enabled them. If she thinks this is good for the country OR the Democratic party, she is as jaded in her congressional bubble as bush himself. There is a train of thought that there are Dems in congress who knew about ALL of these attacks on our constitution AND we as citizens. There are things that transcend personal political careers, like the very soul of our nation and the soul of civilization itself.

There comes a time when we as Americans MUST express our outrage to our elected officials. NOW is one of those times. As an American citizen, I would ask YOU to call Rep Kicinich and tell his office that we support his resolution, HERE’S his contact information. THEN, you HAVE to call your congressman to express (respectfully, of course) your support for this resolution. Let them know you are serious about our laws and that NO man is above the law, not even a bush.The soul of our nation is at stake as well as our ability to sleep at night.
